Scripture informs us that the Lord God is ready.  He is ready to exercise His goodness, justice and holiness by judging every sinful thought, word and deed.  Nothing is ever hidden from the sight of Almighty God.  He is also ready to display His compassion, mercy and grace by forgiving the sins of those who call upon His name.  God is abounding in love, and loved us while we were yet sinners.  Likewise, God's people are to be ready also.  We should be ready to hear and do God's Word, in preparation for His imminent return.

"Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead." - I Peter 4:5

"For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee." - Psalms 86:5

"Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh." - Matthew 24:44

The Bible teaches us that Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people.  Before the foundation of the world, God prepared Heaven and many other inconceivable things for His people.  The Lord also prepares His children with eyes that see, ears that hear and hearts that believe. 

"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. (3)  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." - John 14:2-3

"But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." - I Corinthians 2:9

"LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:" - Psalms 10:17

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." - Hebrews 12:2

Therefore, to apply the significance of our Fertig family name, we must have ready and prepared souls to finish the work God has set before us.  We can only realize the purpose for which we were created if we come into right standing with God.

God makes it clear in His Word that a man must repent of (turn from) his sin and put faith (believe) in the Lord Jesus Christ in order to obtain forgiveness of sins and come into right standing with Him.  Only then will you realize God’s purpose for your life: to glorify Him and enjoy Him forever.

Oh Lord You knew my every deed,

Your Holy Word I did not heed,

I chose my way and ran from You,

Your ten commands I failed to do.

There were other gods in my life,

Daily I was consumed with strife,

I would idolize worldly gain,

Selfish desires I did sustain.

In vain I took Your Holy name,

My unruly tongue I could not tame,

I did ignore Your Sabbath Day,

And worked despite what You did say.

I disobeyed my parent’s word,

Opposing instruction which I had heard,

There were people I hated so,

Equal with murder was this woe.

Looking with lust my eyes did part,

The deed being done in my heart,

Worldly goods from others I took,

When I thought that no one did look.

I had spoken numerous lies,

The truth I did often disguise,

And I did covet frequently,

Desiring all that I did see.

Oh Lord You knew I had broken Your law,

If I had broken one, I had broken all,

For Your law taught me to see,

My sinful estate, which did condemn me,

My works of righteousness I could not brag,

For they were unclean as a filthy rag,

All my actions were centered on self,

Including my obsession to accumulate wealth.

I had thought my soul I would lose,

Until that day I heard the Good News,

How God sent His Son to pay the price,

Only His precious blood could suffice.

The Lord Jesus Christ was nailed to a tree,

And endured God’s wrath for our sin penalty,

He took the punishment we did deserve,

Left to suffer and die for all to observe.

On the third day, He rose from the dead,

Precisely as He had earlier said,

He conquered death, hell and the grave,

Utter victory for those He came to save.

He lives and reigns we can be sure,

His truth abides for evermore,

By His Word all things consist,

Not one jot or tittle will He miss.

When I did hear of the Lord’s grace,

I immediately fell flat upon my face,

I cried out and did repent,

Forgive me of my depraved sin bent.

I also received faith at that hour,

Solely trusting in His Word and power,

In Him do I commit my soul,

Never again will my sins take toll.

In the Book of Life is written my name,

In Him will I trust, He’s always the same,

I greatly rejoice for what He has done,

The mercy bestowed by God’s only Son.

Exceeding joy has flooded my heart,

My Savior promised to never depart,

I sing and give Him all my praise,

For the remainder of my eternal days.

For others who have not answered the call,

Please make haste and do not stall,

Turn from sin and believe even today,

For the Lord Jesus Christ is the only way.

Flee to Jesus and in Him should you trust,

Escaping the torment of Hell is a must,

Flee to Jesus and please do not wait,

For by the next hour, it may be too late.

Oh sinner come, His forgiveness don’t miss,

His wonderful grace, how can you resist,

I plead with you now, this message to hear,

Do not be hardened nor turn a deaf ear.

"And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; (3) Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. (4) But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,  (5) Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (8) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: (9) Not of works, lest any man should boast." - Ephesians 2:1,3-5a,8-9
